WHAT YOU WILL

ENJOY

Welcome drink at Cellars Hohenort hotel, followed by a high tea or delicious breakfast.

This Glamtrail starts at the top gate (Rycroft Gate) to Kirstenbosch Gardens, from where we make our way to the scented garden area to learn about the wide range of plants on show that have scents used in everyday life around the world. We then walk to one of the natural springs in the gardens that was turned into a freshwater pool, known as Colonel Bird's Bath. It was built by Colonel Christopher Bird, the British Deputy Colonial Secretary in the early 1800s.

We go back in time as we walk through the ancient plant species Cyclades, and walk amongst some life-size dinosaur models, then make our way to the Protea and Erica gardens. We exit the gardens and cross over Rhodes Drive, before heading back into a small section of the gardens, open to the public. We walk through the Secret Forest on our way to Cellars Hohenort Hotel.

We take a detour to view the manicured gardens of the hotel before a welcome drink, finishing off the trail with a sit-down high tea with Table Mountain as a backdrop.
